Why it’s use

Ruling Capsule is used for the short-term treatment of ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer). This medicine works by preventing the amount of acid production in the stomach by blocking the organic enzyme system. This medicine helps by reducing the level of acid in the stomach. Ruling is also used for the short-term treatment of stomach ulcer, to treat heartburn and indigestion caused by GERD, for the short-term treatment of inflammation of the food pipe, for the long-term treatment of overproduction of gastric acid (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome), for the long-term treatment of cancer of the endocrine gland, and for the long-term treatment of increase in the number of mast cells in the body (systemic mastocytosis).
Ruling Capsule may also be use together with other medicines to treat certain conditions as recommend by the doctor. It is used in combination with Clarithromycin, or Amoxicillin to treat ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine called as duodenal ulcers. It is also used with Clarithromycin, or Metronidazole to remove Helicobacter pylori bacteria which leads to stomach ulcers.
Proton Pump Inhibitors
Ruling is a prescription medicine that belongs to a class of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors. Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) are a group of medicines that significantly reduce stomach acid production. Excess acid production causes diseases related to the stomach and intestines. PPIs are use to treat such disorders.

How to use

Read the directions on the product label, patient guide, or medicine guide provided by the medicine company or your pharmacist before starting to use Ruling Capsule. If you have any questions related to this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Consume this medicine as recommended by your doctor.
Ruling Capsule is consumed 1 hour before food. Swallow the Ruling capsules whole. Do not chew or crush the capsules. Ruling Capsule is consume usually in the morning.

Typical Dosage

The typical dose of Ruling is 20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. The usual dose for children is 5-20 mg once daily (for inflammation of the food pipe (erosive esophagitis) and acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease). This medicine is typically used for a period of 8 weeks for ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer), 8 weeks for stomach ulcers, and 4 weeks for digestive disorder in which stomach acid flows back into the food pipe (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It takes 1-2 hours for this medicine to start to work. This medicine is not known to be habit-forming.
This medicine should be used on an as-needed basis. Ruling may be prescribed for the long-term treatment of conditions such as excessive production of stomach acid (Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome).
If using the delayed-release form of this medicine, do not crush or chew the medicine, unless indicated on the package. Crushing or chewing of the medicine can result in unpleasant taste resulting in patients not following the medicine schedule. Crushing or chewing can also release all of the medicine at once, resulting in a decrease of effectiveness and a possible increase in side-effects.
If using the liquid form of this medicine, measure the dose using the provided measuring cup, spoon, or dropper. Before pouring the medicine into the measuring device, you should check the measurement markings carefully. Then, pour the dose amount into the device. After use, clean and store the measuring device in a safe place for your next use. You should not use a tablespoon or teaspoon as the dose measuring devices since it can result in an incorrect dose. If indicated on the product package, shake the medicine before use.

Talk to Your Doctor

Talk to your doctor if you develop new symptoms. Tell your doctor if conditions like weight loss, problems while swallowing, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting (food or blood), black stools, severe diarrhea, severe liver problems and skin reaction occurs. If you have issues with the health of your liver, a low dose is require for the maintenance of inflammation of the food pipe (erosive esophagitis). You should consult with your doctor before stopping the use of Ruling.
Older patients may see an increase in the incidence of side-effects with this medicine. As a result, a lower dose may be recommend for older patients.

Use in Children

If you are giving Ruling Capsule to a child, be sure to use a product that is meant for children. Before giving this medicine to a child, use the child’s weight or age to find the right dose from the product package. Lab Tests

Your doctor may request that specific lab tests be performed before you start using Ruling Capsule. You may need to have Magnesium test. A low level of magnesium has been report in patients on prolonged therapy of Ruling with digoxin. So, in this case, careful monitoring of magnesium levels is require before taking this medicine. Before starting this medicine, your doctor would require you to undergo medical or laboratory tests (Magnesium) to monitor for side-effects. Once the administration of the medicine starts, your doctor should monitor you for these medical and laboratory tests to make sure that the side-effects of this medicine are not impacting your health.

Storage

You should store Ruling Capsule Store Ruling delayed-release capsules between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Store Ruling delayed-release oral suspension at 25°C (77°F), permitted to 15–30°C (59–86°F), away from moisture, and away from light. Store the medicine away from the reach of children and pets.
Medicines may be prescribe for uses other than those list in the medicine guide. Do not use Ruling Capsule for conditions for which it was not prescribed. Do not give Ruling Capsule to other people who might have the same conditions or symptoms that you have. Self-medication may harm them.

  • Maximum: 40 mg once a day for 8 weeks

Adult (triple therapy with clarithromycin and amoxicillin)
  • Recommended: 20 mg Ruling plus 500 mg clarithromycin plus 1000 mg amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days
Children (children over 4 years and weight between 15-30 kg (33-66 lbs))
  • Recommended: Ruling 10 mg, amoxicillin 25 mg/kg of body weight and clarithromycin 7.5 mg/kg of body weight twice a day for one week
Children (children over 4 years and weight between 31-40 kg (68-88 lbs))
  • Recommended: Ruling 20 mg, amoxicillin 750 mg and clarithromycin 7.5 mg/kg of body weight twice a day for one week
Children (children over 4 years and weight more than 40 kg)
  • Recommended: Ruling 20 mg, amoxicillin 1000 mg, and clarithromycin 500 mg twice a day for one week

Dosage for helicobacter pylori bacterial infection

Adult (dual therapy with clarithromycin)
